It was the crime that stole Brisbane town’s innocence. 22-year-old Betty Shanks’ body found dumped under trees on a residential street barely 400 metres from her family home.

Somehow, nearly 70 years on, the case remains unsolved, a $50,000 reward still on offer from police.
